Job Description – SHEQ Manager


An opportunity has arisen for a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager to join an established Steel Stockholding Company based in Llanelli. We are a highly regarded steel stockholding company that has been operating since 1976 primarily across Wales and the South West.

The successful SHEQ Manager will report directly into the Managing Director and work in a team environment to help create a positive safety culture, review and create risk assessments and method statements, toolbox talks and liaise with top management regarding all SHEQ matters.

The successful SHEQ Manager will be organised, have strong communication skills, be able to manage their own diary autonomously and be proactive within their work.

The appointed SHEQ Manager will be responsible for:

  • Giving health and safety advice to the site teams
  • Accident investigations and Route Course analysis
  • Site audits and inspections
  • Have knowledge and understanding of CE Marking industry based
  • Review, audit and maintain our Quality Management System
  • Write reports
  • Conduct relevant training
  • Define, communicate and deliver the organisations SHEQ strategy
  • Assist with tendor processes as necessary/supplier questionnaires
  • Coordinate Occupational Health requirements

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of our industry backgrounds (but not essential);
  • CE Marking;
  • Nebosh General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum;
  • Tech Iosh as minimum;
  • Experience with ISO9001 (also 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (45001-2015) preferred)


Salary to be negotiated subject to experience and qualifications (+ Private Healthcare + travel expenses + pension scheme + 28 days annual leave including bank holidays.)
